Studies have indicated that at least 80 percent of business professionals lack the confidence in their use of the English language. This statistic is important in light of the fact that approximately 70 percent of our work day is spent in either verbal or written communication.
Using proper grammar in all forms of business communication conveys a highly favorable professional image and helps to ensure clear, understandable messages with positive results. Grammatical errors that blatantly stand out project a negative business image, are often embarrassing to the communicator, and detract from the message as well as lessen its impact.
This seminar provides a "snapshot" review of key elements in English grammar and points out their application in business written communication. Assuming employees' basic understanding of the English language and its structural foundation, the seminar focuses on recognizing common grammatical mistakes and on learning how to avoid them.

Joan's academic background includes a B.A. degree in English Language and Literature from Daemen College in Buffalo, New York, and an M.A. degree in Journalism from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. For several years, she assisted clients with their public relations and publicity needs. She has also taught professional writing at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York; Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York; and the State University of New York College at Geneseo in Geneseo, New York. A published author, Joan has written several articles on business communication.
Registration Fee and Discounts
$195 for the first attendee and $149 for the second attendee, and $149 for each attendee thereafter.
Payment and Cancellations
Payment is due prior to the start of the seminar by Visa, Master Card, American Express, or Diner's Club. Seminar fees will be charged to your credit card at the time of registration unless other arrangements have been made. Cancellations can be made up to 5:00 PM (Eastern U.S. time) two (2) business days prior to the seminar for a full refund. No refunds will be made thereafter, but credit will be given toward future seminars. Substitutions may be made at any time.
